How it all started? From pharmacist to entrepreneur. All her life Inge has been fascinated by the scientific side of her job. More precisely by the influence of our skin flora on the skin and the formulas behind a product with the specific effect of each ingredient. Resolving everyday discomforts such as sweat smell, acne and skin aging in a completely new way, with expertise and creativity: that is Inge in every way.
She is also a real family woman, with a big heart for her family. And it was precisely in her family that Inge found the inspiration for OY. She started developing Deo Care products because she was looking for a solution for the unsavory T-shirts of her sporty adolescent sons (now big guys). Her own blouses that ended up in the laundry basket after stressful days ... also gave her the drive to find a well-functioning solution. In the meantime, the Oy range is being expanded with the perfect ingredients to create products with great added value. She already had the motivation of her husband Paul and sons, but she also found support at VLAIO (Flemish Agency for Innovation and Entrepreneurship), which supported her projects with great enthusiasm.

How do you start such a project?
Driven by her passion for science, she started looking for solutions herself. And above all, she is looking for completely new concepts where innovation is a must. She started with various studies and visited scientists who were experts in the field of raw materials, sweat odor, skin repair... and then set to work in her own lab. 4 years later and 271 tries later, she found the perfect formula that eliminates smelly sweat. A product with scientific effectiveness that works and that is incredibly pleasant to use. Creativity is in the blood of the whole family and new ideas are always being developed. Because a holistic approach is very important, very innovative products are developed. Dermatocosmetics that really work and are unique because of their 'triple action'.
Motivated by the incredible results of her test audience, Inge set herself the goal of developing unique treatments and sharing their benefits with everyone who needs them.
Inge found inspiration in the indomitable power and freshness of the sea and sought a name that would reflect the purity of the products. Oy is a free translation for island in Norwegian.

How does the division of labor work at Oy?
As a pharmacist, Inge prefers to develop new products.
Gauthier likes to visit the pharmacies to present and explain our products. In addition, he loves numbers and is the ideal force to prepare invoices as well as complete management reporting - so our figures are always up-to-date!
Gaëtan studied IPO, industrial product design and is very creative. All marketing and promotional material passes through his hands. Editing photos and videos is his natural talent. He also likes to look at the bigger picture and is strongly committed to our strategy and long-term vision.
